AllScene were proud to work with Tony and Olivier award-winning designer Lez Brotherston on FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS for the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
Based on the novel by Paul Gallico, FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS is a new musical by Richard Taylor and Rachel Wagstaff. Set in 1940s London, it follows Ada Harris, a cleaner who wants for nothing until she happens upon a Chrisitan Dior dress. Something deep within her awakens. She sets out on an unthinkable quest that will change her life. From the cobbled streets of post-war London to the magical avenues of Paris and beyond, Ada transforms the lives of everyone she meets along the way, but can she let go of her past and finally let her own life blossom?
Musical Direction by Tom Brady, Lighting by Mark Henderson and Movement from Kay Sheperd. With a cast including Clare Burt (This Is My Family), Anna-Jane Casey (Company, Mack and Mabel) and Louis Maskell (My Fair Lady, West Side Story), accompanied by a live orchestra, Daneil Evans (Show Boat, This Is My Family, My Fair Lady) will direct this uplifting story that celebrates the extraordinary power of friendship, love and one incredible woman.
FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS will run at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield until Saturday 4th June 2016. Public Dress Rehearsal on Wedneday 18th May, the Gala Performance on Thursday 19th May 2016.
