Design by Tom Scutt.
"...Carnality hangs like a heat haze over the production, whose brooding design by Tom Scutt is like a collection of padded grey entrails when punctured. A savvy piece of programming that makes Woyzeck more accessible while preserving its unsettling spirit..." - Paul Taylor, The Independent.
All Scene had the pleasure of working with Tom Scutt once again at the Old Vic Theatre on their latest production WOYZECK. The multi-award-winning Jack Thorne (This Is England, Let The Right One In, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) breathes new life into WOYZECK, one of the most extraordinary plays ever written.
It's 1980s Berlin. The Cold War rages and the world sits at a crossroads between Capitalism and Communism. On the border between East and West, a young soldier Woyzeck and the love of his life are desperatly trying to build a better furture for their child.
But the cost of escaping poverty is high in this searing tale of people society leaves behind.
Cast includes: John Boyega (Woyzeck), Ben Batt (Andrews), Nancy Carroll (Maggie), Sarah Greene (Marie) and Steffan Rhodri (Captain). Directed by Joe Murphy, Lighting by Neil Austin and Sound by Gareth Fry.
WOYZECK runs at the The Old Vic theatre from Monday 22nd May to Saturday 24th June 2017. Previews start from Saturday 13th May 2017.For more information and to book tickets, click here.
